DIGITALISATION AND AUTOMATION OF THE JUSTICE SECTOR IN ANAMBRA STATE

Anambra State is undergoing a transformative digitalization and automation of its justice sector to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accessibility. This end-to-end automation streamlines the entire judicial process, covering case filing to final disposition through key modules such as eFiling, Virtual Hearing and Verbatim Court Reporting. The latter aims to end writing in long hand by Judges and Magistrates.

This comprehensive digital transformation brings multiple benefits. It increases efficiency by reducing case delays, enhances transparency by minimizing human interference, and improves accessibility by allowing legal professionals and litigants to engage remotely. Additionally, strong cybersecurity measures safeguard sensitive legal data, ensuring security and confidentiality. The automation of fee assessments and payments optimizes revenue collection, reducing financial leakages.

By embracing full scope justice sector innovations, Anambra State is setting a precedent for judicial modernization in Nigeria. This project aligns with global legal technology trends, making justice delivery more effective, equitable, and accessible. Stakeholders, including legal practitioners, court officials, and the public, are enthusiastic about this new era of seamless and more efficient judicial process. And the international committee is expanding partnership with Anambra in this regard for widespread modernization and transformation of the justice sector.
