The Ministry of Justice is one of the actors in governance involved in the provision, management, and oversight of justice under the executive arm of Government. Accordingly, in the State, the Ministry of Justice plays a major role in the judicial system as well as other associated personnel and agencies, executive authorities responsible for justice administration and management. The objective of the Ministry of Justice is to protect the rights of the Government and resolution of inter-ministerial conflicts. The Ministry of Justice is one of the key and significant sectors in the administration of justice in the State. The Ministry has eight (9) departments and four (4) independent agencies. These departments are as follows:
