Anambra State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Sylvia Chika Ifemeje, alongside C.C. Madukaife (Esq), has achieved a significant milestone with two recent Supreme Court victories in Abuja. In the cases of Ikenna Obi versus Anambra State and Osadebe versus Anambra State, the apex court ruled in favor of the state after careful deliberation.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Nneka Umeozulu (Esq), lauded these achievements and highlighted the Attorney General’s consistent success in both appellate and high courts. She emphasized that Professor Ifemeje has streamlined case management since taking office, provided prompt legal opinions, and eliminated long-standing backlogs, earning the gratitude of many litigants.
Mrs. Ndirika Onyekwelu (Esq), the Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, was equally effusive in her praise. Describing the Attorney General as approachable, astute, and accommodating, she noted that her efforts have modernized the Ministry of Justice in several zones, including Nnewi, Otuocha, and Aguata. These improvements such as air-conditioned facilities and updated furnishings are a testament to the progress achieved under Governor Soludo’s administration.
In recognition of her hard work and dedication, the Attorney General has received multiple awards, the latest being the ADA Anambra Award, presented by women who appreciate her outstanding performance since assuming office.
