GOVERNOR SOLUDO UNVEILS ANAMBRA HOMELAND SECURITY LAW, LAUNCHES “OPERATION UDO GA-ACHI”

In a bold initiative to confront rising security challenges, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has unveiled the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025 and launched a special security operation dubbed “Operation Udo Ga-Achi,” emphasizing that it lays a strong foundation for community participation in sustainable security and social re-engineering efforts.

Governor Soludo explained that “Operation Udo Ga-Achi” is a dedicated intervention force designed to complement regular policing. Its mission is to bolster intelligence gathering, incentivize whistleblowers, speed up emergency responses, and decisively target criminal networks throughout Anambra State.

Addressing the complex and multifaceted nature of the state's security issues, the Governor stressed that a comprehensive and lasting solution is essential. He reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating criminality and ensuring that Anambra becomes the safest state in Nigeria.

Key elements of the Anambra Homeland Security Law 2025 include:

- The establishment of Agunechemba—a new vigilante structure to support federal security forces.

- Deployment of advanced technology such as tracking systems, command-and-control platforms, and AI-powered surveillance cameras.

- Creation of a State Call Centre with toll-free access for streamlined reporting and assistance.
- Monthly security support grants for communities to enhance local safety initiatives.
- A monthly bonus of N10 million for Divisional Police Offices that achieve zero violent crime records.
